OGDEN, Utah (AP) — A 52-year-old man accused of punching another man and hitting him with his car in a dispute over pew space in Utah has been ordered to spend 30 days in jail. The Salt Lake Tribune reports Wayne Dodge was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge. He was also ordered to complete an anger management class and pay a fine. A Utah man is starving himself in protest against same-sex marriage, which was recently legalized in the staunchly conservative state following a federal judge's ruling. , a 35-year-old Mormon and small business owner, has vowed to forego food until Utah stops allowing same-sex couples to marry. ABC 4 reports Meacham hasn't eaten in 12 days. He is reportedly surviving "solely on water and an occasional vitamin." He has lost 25 pounds (11.3 kg).
